User Guide

Palm Vein Recognition

Palm Vein Recognition Spread your hand and place it perpendicularly to the palm vein sensor. Align the center of your palm with the center of the sensor. Then move your hand slowly up or down at a distance of 3.5–7 cm (1.3-2.7 in) from the product. The fingerprint ToF sensor will scan your palm and the fingerprint light will turn green. Remain still while your palm vein is being scanned.

Facial Recognition

Facial Recognition Stand at a distance about 50–60 cm (19.6-2.3 in) from the product, and look at the face camera. Adjust your face so it can be parallel to the camera. To recognize your face, the pan and tilt modules are moving in the direction of your face to adjust the angle of camera.

Fingerprint Recognition

Fingerprint Recognition Place your hand perpendicularly to the fingerprint camera. Place the first knuckle of the finger so that it can cover the camera. Then, adjust your hand at a distance of 9-10 cm (3.5-3.9 in) from the product. The fingerprint ToF sensor will scan your palm and the fingerprint light will turn green. Move your finger closer slowly down to a distance of 3.5-5 cm (1.3- 1.9 in) from the camera. It will sound when your fingerprints are scanned.

Iris Recognition

Iris Recognition Stand at a distance about 50–80 cm (19.6-31.5 in) from the product. Adjust your face so it can be parallel to the iris camera, and look at the camera for 1–3 seconds. The iris light will turn in red. To recognize your irises, the pan and tilt modules are moving to adjust the angle of camera.

Do you have an Anti-passback function?
Yes.  The anti-passback funtion requires that a specific sequence is used for the system to grant entry and/or exit at a specific location

Yes.  The anti-passback funtion requires that a specific sequence is used for the system to grant entry and/or exit at all locations within the facility.
How many authentication pattern modes does the BACS unit have?
The BACS Quattro uses four modes of biometric authentication patterns :  Face, Iris, Fingerprint and Palm Vein.   The BACS Duo uses two modes of biometric authentication patterns: Face and Palm Vein.
Do you have a calendar function?
Yes. The calendars are maintained by CRUAMS access management system. Users can set 254 holidays.
Can the BACS unit be used under the low light conditions?
The Iris, Fingerprint and Palm Vein recognition modiules are not affected by low light conditions. The facial recognition module utilizes WDR and requires a certain amount of light however it also has adjustable settings that can compensate for low light conditions.
Can you set authentication for 2 or more as a multi person rule?
No, BACS readers do not support this feature (commonly known as "Escort Mode.")
Does user authentication occur at the BACS or at the server?
The BACS (Biometric Access Control System) readers can either work as a stand-alone device or with the centralized server. User data can be stored in both the local BACS readers and also in the server (enrollment station.) Data is continuously shared and synchronized so that all readers have updated information. When the user is recognized at the BACS reader, authentication takes place locally.
Please explain the mechanism of authentication.
Each BACS reader can be configured to require between one and four modes of biometrics. All four modes of biometric attempt to recongnize simultaneously and once the user has been authenticated by the required number of modes, the user is granted access.
What is the suggested maintenance on the BACS unit?
When maintenance or service is required it is recommended that the BACS readers are only serviced by a qualified and trained professional. Opening the BACS unit could cause further damage and void the warranty.
What are the options for enrollment?
Enrollment can be tailored based on individual security conditions and requirements. Each of the four biometric modes can be enrolled independently which allows for certain users to skip specific modes if they are not available (ie, fingerprint is not available due to a physical disability.) The BACS system will attempt to recognize all biometrics that are presented and will only authenticate those which are enrolled. The enrollment can take place at the dedicated enrollment station which provides optimal capture settings. In addtion enrollment can also take place at either a BACS Quattro or Duo. The most accurate and responsive results are acheived when the user is enrolled at both the enrollment station and at the BACS reader.
What are the Multi credential verifying options?
The user can customize the credential verification policy for the specific needs of each facility. The system can be configured to require a combination of any of the four biometric modes and/or the RFID readers that are connected to the BACS readers.
What is Low Light level counter- light support?
The BACS reader has a built-in WDR ISP which automatically controls and adjusts the amount of light necessary to capture a usable image in low light conditions.
What is PWM radiation intensity control?
PWM is a controlled setting that can adjust the radiation intensity to correct and safe levels in various lighting conditions.
What is Partial Iris donut recognition?
The BACS Iris module captures and analyzes the "donut" pattern of the iris. If the BACS is only able to capture a partial pattern of the donut it is still able to recognize and distinguish user specific templates.
How many BACS can CRUAMS handle?
Depending on network and server environments (assumed i7 CPU, 1G Ethernet and MS-SQL database) standard CRUAMS installations can accommodate approximately 256 BACS readers.
Does CrucialTrak BACS product support European GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)?
Yes, CrucialTrak BACS readers are equipped with triple encryption (Template transformation by Algorithm, Data Storage Encryption, and Data Communication Encryption) to protect ‘Special Categories of Personal Data’. Also, CrucialTrak BACS supports easier process for corporate users to get consent from each individuals for using personal data.
